This policy explains how nzdis.co.nz ("NZDis", "we") handles personal information. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its 13 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email and message if you contact us or submit a reader report.
- Information collected automatically: standard analytics such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and referring site. This is used in aggregate to improve the site.
- Cookies: small files stored on your device — see our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and reader reports.
- To understand how the site is used and improve our content.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the site.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Sharing your information
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site (for example analytics and email), under confidentiality obligations, or where required by New Zealand law. When you click through to a gambling operator, that operator collects your information under its own privacy policy — we do not pass your personal details to operators.
4. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Some of our service providers may store data outside New Zealand; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable safeguards apply.
5. Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request correction of anything inaccurate. To make a request, email editor@nzdis.co.nz. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Act.
6. Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your information, contact us first. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
